HART
celebrated Labor Day by officially launching another labor-saving
technology for HART customers: OneBusAway Tampa Enterprise website.
With this newly
enhanced service, HART patrons will be able to instantly track buses
to see exactly how far the bus is from their current location. They are
able to calculate the distance either by the number of bus stops or the
number of miles.

Features
included in OneBusAway Enterprise include an interactive map with vehicle
locations; a user-friendly search engine-based interface; and an ADA
compliant text-only mobile interface. There is even a special
"do-it-yourself" feature that allows merchants to display
OneBusAway Enterprise information on storefront signage such as TV screens
and computer monitors. The site can be accessed by both traditional
computers as well as smartphones and other Internet-connected mobile
devices. The new OneBusAway Enterprise website can be accessed via the
following link: http://tampa.onebusaway.org/enterprise/
Two
years ago HART launched the innovative OneBusAway app that delivers
real-time bus arrival information directly to a customer's smart phone,
computer, or other Wi-Fi enabled device. The system includes a touchtone
feature that allows riders to receive real-time information in their
preferred way via the app, text, or touchtone. Recently the OneBusAway
app was also made available for use with the popular Amazon Fire Phone.
As HART Chief Executive Officer Katharine Eagan explains, "OneBusAway
truly enhances the rider's experience, because they'll have the answers
they need right at their fingertips."
Since it was originally launched, the GPS-powered system has gained in
popularity with HART patrons, and it is accessed more than 300,000 times per month.
Thanks to OneBusAway, riders save time, effort, and stress and can be
reassured regarding the arrival time of their bus.
